| Jim Auvil, Owner
Licensed in VA and NC
In 1988, already having 8 years of experience in the insurance industry, I became the principle agent of JD Auvil Agency. I began the agency as a scratch agent, meaning I had no policies given to me. The first policy I wrote was my very own. With the help of my wife, Sheila and my mother-n-law Melva, who went to be with the Lord in 1995 due to cancer, the agency began to grow. Then there was my 5 year old son Jimmy in a suit, passing out my business cards at Farm Fresh saying, "Go see my dad for insurance." Now I currently have two locations in Carrollton and Chesapeake, VA. On staff is my wife Sheila as the office manager and bookkeeper, my three sons, Jimmy, Jacob and Johnathan, who all three are professionally trained licensed agents, my daughter Amber, who helps in the office, and two additional professionally trained staff members.
